Create a Custom Design

If you have a project with specific requirements, we enjoy the process of working together to bring it to fruition.

Our Custom Design Process

Step 1: Collaborative Design Session

To me, a piece of furniture must meet both functionality and aesthetic requirements. Everyone has their own vision of art and what is pleasing to their individual sensitivities. Through detailed discussions and the sharing of ideas, I create sketches. Input on all aspects of the piece is reviewed and modified to achieve a functional, aesthetically pleasing, and unique design.

Step 2: Detailed Drawings and Mock-Up

Once the design is agreed upon, detailed drawings are produced. If necessary, a mock-up, offering a tangible preview of the final piece, is built. This step allows for a more detailed review, and necessary adjustments are made to ensure every detail aligns with your expectations. Also at this step, a design contract is completed, which includes material requirements, material cost, timeline, and payment schedule.

The mock-up is often valuable as it allows the client, in the case of a custom piece, to see whether it actually needs a number of adjustments from the original concept.

Step 3: Crafting Your Timeless Piece

With the approved design and refined mock-up in hand, the meticulous and most enjoyable part of the process of bringing your idea to life starts. Pictures and updates are provided during the creation of your piece to keep you involved in the process and the project.
